This is the most common thing I hear from parents.
My goal during your shoot is to score some brownie points with your children. I have to gain their trust before anything else, so before I even pull my camera out, I sit down with them and get to know them. They like Elmo? I'm gonna sing Elmo's Song for them because I know all the words. Their favorite food is peanut butter lasagna? That's what I had for dinner last night!
Once I connect with them, they're more likely to be cool with me holding a camera in their face.
This isn't always fool proof because each kid is unique and deserves to be treated as such, but I do EVERYTHING I possibly can to get you beautiful photos.
